It’s a good time to sell some of your home’s appliances, says Jeff Siegel, owner of Siegel Appliances in Maplewood, Michigan.
Siegel says it’s a wise move to put your home up for sale after the last sale or sale, but you’ll still want to get rid of as many of them as you can before they go up for auction.
“It’s best to wait a little bit, especially when it’s your final sale, because you want to make sure the last item you’re selling is as nice as it can be,” he says.
And the sale of your household appliances is also a good opportunity to put the brakes on your mortgage payment, he says, since you won’t be making any extra money for the rest of your life.
You may have to pay a bit more in interest for the next few years, but it’s worth it to put it all away, he adds.
